Of all the events that have shaken me to the core during the past few months (and there are many) none have been more shocking than the aftermath of the January 6th, 2021 rally in our nation’s capital which ended with the demonstrations inside the U.S. Capitol. I’ll be honest: the misrepresentations and the manipulations of facts are beyond anything I could have imagined possible here in our own United States of America, resembling the historical accounts of some of the most tyrannical regimes in the history of the world. And that is no exaggeration: this is McCarthyism on steroids.
Many of us are familiar with the phrase “never let a good crisis go to waste,” most famously attributed to Obama’s former Chief of Staff and subsequent Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel but also used by several of the Democrat Party luminaries including Hillary Clinton. That simple phrase, as Machiavellian and evil as it is at its very core, has seemingly become the #1 rule of the Democrat Party. The weaponization of the COVID plandemic, which was used as the excuse to promote mail-in ballots and resulted in the subsequent “election” of Joe Biden to be POTUS immediately comes to mind.
Now, the response to the January 6 rally is to use the event as the new “crisis” being exploited to subjugate the nation by criminalizing opposing views and silencing those who don’t play along with the Establishment. And they are doing it in a way that makes our country unrecognizable.
Let’s start with the rally itself. Having lived in the major DC area for the better part of 24 years I know dozens of people who went to the protest. They are all peaceful people who care deeply for our country and their fellow Americans. The overwhelming majority of them are senior citizens. Most of them have attended several rallies, all of them peacefully.
I considered attending the rally but decided against it in the end, mostly because of the threats by Antifa and BLM to disrupt and bring their trademark violence to the rally. I saw what they did during most of 2020 in cities like Seattle, Portland, Kenosha, Philadelphia, and DC- just to mention a few. They looted, they burned down buildings, they violently confronted the police, they attacked bystanders and drivers who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong place, they took over entire blocks of cities. I saw the news reports, complete with coverage about how the thugs in those cities were provided with weapons by unknown sources which included bricks, concrete rocks, and plywood shields. The Democrat Party and its leaders, including Kamala Harris, excused, defended, and encouraged those riots in stark contrast to what has happened following the January 6 rally.
There is no doubt that the January 6th rally got out of control. What is in doubt is who exactly caused the exacerbation of the events. I’ve heard accounts (for which videos exist) of patriots trying to stop the people doing the destruction. And while I don’t doubt that a few people from the Right may have gotten too excited and participated in the destruction, most of us don’t believe that those inciting a riot were people from our side. And if history is any indication, chances are that they were not.
However, I haven’t seen any evidence to suggest that this was a planned insurrection. Nor have I seen any evidence to suggest that people were armed and ready to take the place over, much less hostages, as one would expect in an insurrection. In fact, I have never heard of an insurrection where the insurrectionist have gone unarmed with anything more lethal than a flag. I’m pretty sure that even the cast of Les Miserables in Broadway had more dangerous weapons than these people had.
Yet, the Democrats and the Propaganda Media baptized the event as an “insurrection” with several of them taking it a step further and declaring all who were there “domestic terrorists.” Yes, the same people who had nothing but positive things to say about all the BLM & Antifa destruction are now claiming that this rally-turned-protest (or riot, if you really want to stretch it) was an insurrection. The Propaganda Media’s coverage has been incessant, still dominating the front page headlines nearly a month later. Parler and other social media sites were banned because they allowed the rally to be promoted on their platforms. People have been fired from their jobs for being anywhere near that rally. Groups like the Proud Boys, who had absolutely nothing to do with the event, have been labeled a “terrorist group” simply for supporting the rally. And President Trump has been impeached (again) for promoting and supporting the event.
Of course, there’s no better way to support their claims of “insurrection” than to cite the loss of life at the event. While the loss of life is tragic and regrettable, what the media will either hide or lie about is the circumstances of that loss of life. The truth is that only one person was murdered that day and that was Ashli Babbitt, the unarmed Air Force veteran who was shot by police inside the Capitol. Interestingly, the description of the events provided by the media seem very different from the actual video that most of us got to watch. The only other person who may have died as a result of the day’s events was Rosanne Boyland, who may have been crushed when people started running.
The other three people who are listed as fatalities of that day, including the Capitol Police officer who died the following day, all died of natural causes. One had a stroke on a sidewalk, the other a heart attack. Even CNN has admitted that the medical examiners, who have curiously not released the cause of death of Officer Sicknick almost a month after his passing, have stated that there is no evidence of blunt trauma or that he was in any way injured during the protests. Yet none of this matters: the Propaganda Media have declared that this 5 people died as a result of the protests by Trump supporters and that they, and President Trump are to blame.
But it isn’t just the Democrats and the Propaganda Media who have exploited this crisis and lied about it in order to fan the flames: pro-Establishment Republicans have done the same. And, for that, I encourage every single American who cares about this country to vote against ANYONE who has called this event an insurrection or a takeover of our country.
The age of innocence (or rather, ignorance) is now over and we are full into the most tyrannical era that many of us feared. Those practices are now in overdrive and accelerating at a pace that even people like me didn’t think it would be possible. It is positively dizzying.
At what point can we consider the United States of America, as founded by our Founding Fathers and framed by our glorious Constitution dead and gone forever? When will people realize that they are now living under a dictatorship where any difference of opinion to that of the ruling class and its propaganda machine is silenced, any thought against the Establishment and the elites is considered subversion that will be punished, and where those that don’t comply are persecuted and criminalized? No, we may not yet have firing squads, encampments, or trains on their way to gas chambers, but many on the Left are sounding as if there should be.
